Acknowledgement of Grant from Ontario Ministry of Education

Naseeha Mental Health is deeply grateful to the Ontario Ministry of Education for awarding a generous grant of $99,000. This funding will significantly enhance our ability to deliver mental health workshops across schools in Ontario, focusing on promoting awareness of Islam, addressing misconceptions, and enhancing cultural competency.

About the Grant

The Ontario Ministry of Education’s one-time funding supports Naseeha Youth Helpline in delivering workshops to students, parents, and educators. The goal is to address misconceptions about Islam, enhance cultural competency, and foster a sense of belonging among Muslim students within Ontario's school communities.

Impact on Naseeha Mental Health

With this grant, Naseeha Mental Health will be able to:

  • Educate Students: Empower students with accurate knowledge about Islam, its principles, values, and practices, fostering a sense of pride in their identity and promoting confidence in expressing their beliefs within the school environment.

  • Support Educators: Provide educators with comprehensive training and resources to create inclusive classroom environments, effectively address stereotypes and biases, and support the diverse needs of Muslim students in their academic and social development.

  • Engage Parents: Equip parents with information, tools, and strategies to facilitate open and supportive dialogues about Islam at home, strengthen family connections, and promote positive engagement in their children's education.

  • Foster Interfaith Understanding: Facilitate dialogue and collaboration between Muslim and non-Muslim students, educators, and parents to promote interfaith understanding, respect, and solidarity within school communities.

Our Commitment

Naseeha Mental Health is committed to using these funds responsibly and effectively. We will continue to work tirelessly to provide mental health support and education, fostering resilience and well-being in our communities. This grant from the Ontario Ministry of Education empowers us to make a more significant impact, ensuring that students, educators, and parents are well-informed and supported.
